There are lots of different ways that users can explore your content.
Images
We figured that if we were going to make a photography archives website, then we’d make the images the star of the show.
First-off, users can view their search results using a nice big thumbnail, which enlarges when they hover over it. This acts as a teaser, encouraging them to click into the image page. Once there, they are presented with a large format view, which shows the image in all its glory. All images come with a watermark.
Magnifying lens
If that’s not enough, then they can use a magnifying lens to really get into the detail of the picture.
Image metadata
When you add an image to the site, you can upload a range of different metadata. This provides your users with a rich background of information for them to explore and contextualise the image. This includes:
- Title
- Image description
- Address
- Date taken
- Photographer’s name
