Lluniau StoriPowys is a fantastic window into the historic county of Powys. It enables users to explore images that show the growth and development of the mid-Wales area.
Client background
StoriPowys is an organisation that manages three museums, 18 libraries and an archive service on behalf of Powys County Council. They deliver innovative cultural services that reflect the diversity of their collections and aim to connect people with the past. Lluniau StoriPowys is home to their digital collections.
Project background
We worked closely with the StoriPowys team to understand which images they wanted to include on the site. Alongside this we helped them to develop the search categories and homepage tiles.
Once they had decided upon the themes they wanted to use, they then tasked staff in different parts of the organisation to submit content that could be used.
Project results
Llunaiu StoriPowys contains over 900 images for users to explore. These cover a wide range of topics, including fossils, the Romans and the Tudors. They also depict everyday life in county throughout history, with particular focus on farming, textiles and war.
